This comprehensive Krauss Maffei foam system represents a fully integrated solution for polyurethane foam component manufacturing. The system operates through five distinct stations: Station 1 handles loading of slush skin and carrier substrate into the mold; Station 2 performs surface activation using a Hill flame-treatment unit to ensure optimal adhesion; Station 3 injects PU foam from the adjacent wet zone with automatic component positioning; Station 4 manages the polyurethane reaction and curing phase where foam expands and bonds with materials; and Station 5 performs robotic removal with automated void inspection and discharge conveyor placement. The system is engineered for high-precision manufacturing with a maximum parallel stroke of 1,100 mm and maximum clamping force of 400 kN. The mould carrier weighs 4,500 kg with a total mould weight of 2,500 kg and allows an additional specific load of 1,000 kg. Operating at a maximum working pressure of 6 bar with operating vacuum of approximately 0.7 bar, the system delivers consistent, high-quality foam components. The equipment includes an ALBA 5-station rotary indexing table for efficient multi-stage processing. Originally fabricated in 2010, the system underwent a complete overhaul in 2022 by ALBA, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The system is currently in good working condition and ready for immediate deployment in flexible plastic converting operations.
