Recycling & Sustainability

Euro Machinery aims to keep the used equipment in circulation and give it a second chance to be used in production. We aim to sell the best quality secondhand machinery for flexible plastic converting and recycling. Euro Machinery has over 25 years of experience, and our headquarters are in Denmark, with local offices in Portugal, Spain, and Poland. We import and export used quality machinery from factory to factory globally.

When buying a second-hand machine, you extend the lifespan of an existing machine and reduce the need for new machines to be produced. It helps to sustain resources while also reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing. Moreover, used machines are often sold at a lower price than new ones, making them a more cost-effective and sustainable option for businesses or individuals looking to buy equipment.

Second-hand plastic recycling

Euro Machinery buys and sells secondhand plastic recycling machines for in-house and post-consumer waste. In-house recycling is when companies reuse their waste. It has a considerable advantage since the waste would be very little to not contaminated. On the other side, there is post-consumer waste.

There is much concern about post-consumer plastic waste. However, analysis shows that in 2021, the recycling rate of plastic waste was around 32.5% in the EU. The rest ended up on their journey in landfills and oceans, which led to environmental pollution, a crucial global concern. Therefore, governments implement regulations to minimize environmental waste as much as possible and improve waste management and recycling.

Analysis shows that the recycled plastics market is projected to grow from USD 27.9 billion in 2021 to USD 43.5 billion by 2026. (Global Recycled Plastics Market Report 2022). Recycling companies have only to gain from such numbers, which contribute not only to their business but also to the environment and society.

Much of the plastic waste worldwide comes from the industrial sectors like packaging and other sectors,

around 302 million tons a year. But, besides industrial plastic waste, it also comes from municipal solid waste, where there are 2 billion tons a year, and the number increases.

This waste consists of diverse types of plastics such as Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl), Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS or Styrofoam) and other materials.

It requires good sorting and cleaning of these materials before they are recycled in quality granules.
